GTBank rolls out MasterCard in Ghana

Guaranty Trust Bank Limited has rolled out MasterCard debit card in Ghana after acquiring the licence to issue such cards in its Ghana subsidiary. A statement by the parent company on Thursday said, the bank had rolled out a range of MasterCard products and services including card issuance and Automated Teller Machine activation. While unveiling the GTBank MasterCard services into the Ghanaian market, the General Manager, Guaranty Trust Bank (Ghana) Limited, Mr. Jamiu Yusuf, said that the inauguration of the MasterCard would offer ultimate convenience and financial control to its customers by combining worldwide acceptance and flexibility. The statement quoted Yusuf as saying, In our quest to provide alternative payment services to our customers and those who wish to do business with us, GTBank is issuing MasterCard debit cards across the country and this would be supported with a massive roll out of Point of Sale terminals to subscribing merchants. Its security features include a sophisticated, multi-level fraud monitoring system to protect cardholders from fraud and data compromise by employing the use of chip and pin technology. Also speaking, the Group Head, Alternative Channels, GTBank Ghana, Mrs. Araba Ofori, said the bank would provide excellent customer and support service to ensure smooth operations and delivery of its MasterCard service. The statement said, Within its relatively short period of operations, GTBank has deployed a wide network of ultra modern ATMs that offer real convenience of 24-hour accessibility at strategic locations across the country. All the ATMs accept MasterCard, Maestro, Visa and China Union Pay cards. GTBanks success in offering alternatives and convenience has seen it rise up to become the bank of choice in the country.
