Ninety percent of South Africa's energy generation is currently coal-powered, but with pressure for Eskom to reduce its carbon footprint and increase its supply, the power utility is turning to renewables to diversify its energy portfolio.
Key industry players in the wind energy sector converged in Cape Town this week for Windaba to discuss the environmental, economic and social importance of this energy source to SA.
