The Bank of Ghana's Monetary Policy Committee has raised its prime lending rate by a 100 basis points to 13.5 percent.
Central bank Governor Kwesi Amissah-Arthur announced the decision at a press conderence in Accra, citing the eurozone crisis and depreciation of the local cedi currency.
Joining ABN's Godfrey Mutizwa by phone from Accra to review the interest rate statement is Nii Ampa-Sowa, Head of Research Databank Financial Services.
