Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan presented his second budget plan on the 23 February 2011 in an environment clouded by a fragile global economy which has curtailed the strength of the country’s economic recovery.

Following the Budget Speech, ABN Events hosted the Post Budget Day Breakfast, with CNBC Africa as the exclusive broadcaster. The event examined how the Budget affected businesses and individuals in the region. It also examined the Budget's economic impact.
