Key objectives of the conference:

The International Entrepreneurship and Investment Conference is targeting the international community, mainly the Southern African Development Community region, team of experts and captains of industries as the province wants to develop economic strategies that locate it in the global arena with other trading regions.

However, its desire to integrate investment and entrepreneurship is influenced mainly by a set of objectives such as:
  • Encouragement and entrenchment of entrepreneurial spirit in the province, South Africa and the region by promoting innovative approach to business,
  • Provision of a platform to promote KwaZulu-Natal as a premier investment destination,
  • Alignment of investment opportunities in the province and enterprise development strategies with opportunities and strategies within the SADC region,
  • Provision of a platform for networking and establishment of business linkages amongst key business and government decision makers,
  • Facilitation of an increase in trade between the province and other economic regions,
  • Promotion of innovation and increased competitiveness in key sectors of the economy.

    Thematic profile of the conference:

    The content of the conference will be structured according to sub-themes which will be covered in various forms of deliberations that include contextual speeches, presentations, academic papers and panel discussions which all will be aggregated into a set of resolutions reflecting the strategic thrust the province has to consider moving forward in its endeavours to harmonise entrepreneurship and investment to forge growth.

    Entrepreneurship and Investment Debate - Part 1



    The International Entrepreneurship and Investment Conference in KwaZulu Natal was held at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli Convention Centre.

    ABN’s Bronwyn Nielsen’s hosted a debate at the conference looking at investment opportunities in KZN and the SADC region while also promoting and entrenching the culture of entrepreneurship in the province.
