Consumer prices in Seychelles fell 3.4 percent in February from a year earlier, driven by a decline in milk, dairy products and alcoholic beverage costs.

On a month on month basis, prices increased by 0.1 percent, their third straight month of gains. Housing, water gas and electricity saw a month on month increase of 0.5 percent.

The CPI stood at 183.8 in February compared with 190.2 a year earlier, the National Statistics Bureau said.

Consumer price movements in the Indian Ocean archipelago have remained volatile since inflation soared to 63.6 percent in December 2008 following the removal of exchange rate regulations and record high oil prices.
