TRADING STATEMENT
In terms of the Listings Requirements of the JSE Limited ("the Listings
Requirements"), companies are required to publish a trading statement as soon as
they are reasonably certain that the financial results for the current reporting
period will differ by
more than 20% from those of the previous corresponding
period.
Headline Earnings Per Share
Accordingly, Metair advises that it expects the Group`s headline earnings for
the year ended 31 December 2009 to be between R86 million and R105 million
compared to the previous corresponding period of R105 million. This equates to
a headline earnings per share of between 60 and 73 cents per share, compared to
headline earnings of 74 cents per share for the previous corresponding period.
Earnings for the year ended 31 December 2009 are estimated to be between R47
million and R57 million compared to the previous corresponding period loss of
R13 million. This equates to an earnings per share of between 33 and 40 cents
per share, compared to a loss of 9 cents per share for the previous
corresponding period.
It is anticipated that the results for the year ended 31 December 2009 are
expected to be published on or about
24 March 2010.
