IMPERIAL buys a strategic stake in MiX
IMPERIAL is pleased to announce that it has acquired a strategic stake of 25,4%
in MiX Telematics Ltd (MiX), a company listed in the Business Support Services
sector of the JSE Securities Exchange. MiX has interests in vehicle tracking and
fleet management in South Africa and abroad. Its South African brand is Matrix
Vehicle
Tracking, which is SA`s third largest vehicle tracking supplier. MiX has
a global subscriber base in excess of 200 000 connections.
IMPERIAL already has a business relationship with MiX through IMPERIAL`S almost
250 new and used vehicle dealerships. These dealerships form an important
distribution channel for Matrix products. Several of MiX`s other products in the
fleet management arena, which are successfully marketed in South Africa and
abroad, may also find applications in the IMPERIAL group. The strategic
shareholding will further strengthen the relationship between MiX and the
IMPERIAL group.
MiX will be equity accounted by IMPERIAL as an associate.
