Nigeria's agricultural sector continues to suffer setbacks with the agri contribution to GDP declining from 66% to 32% in the 1990s.

The CBN governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi said if Africa were to invest its current annual food bill and aid of about $22 billion to agriculture development, it would take the region less than a decade to achieve the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme target.

ABN was joined from Abuja by Prof. Anthony Ikpi, Head of the Department of Agricultural Economics at the University of Ibadan.
