Mauritius: Part 1 - Tourism

Mauritius is unarguably one of the world's top tourist destinations and this sector contributes over 8% to the countrys GDP. Honeymooners, in particular from South Africa, flock here every year to enjoy the luxurious accommodation, and world class food and service. As a former French colony, cultural and linguistic ties are strong, making it a favourite holiday choice for the French particularly during their winter time. And all these tourists contribute to the million of dollars of foreign direct inflows into the country, creating jobs for almost half the islands 1.3 million people.
